Low_Cost_Spay_Neuter_MemphisThere are several places in the Memphis area that offer low cost spaying and neutering for your pet, as well as other services like vaccinations and deworming.

Spay Memphis

These are  basic prices, but they are always trying to find grants to help lower the prices even more. Currently the only one available is for residents of 38105, but we hope to get one for low-income pet owners soon.   • 26-40 lbs. $85
  • 41-75 lbs. $100
  • 76+ lbs. $125

Spay Or Neuter For Cats

  • Spay (female) or Neuter (male) $55
  • Feral cat spay/neuter + rabies vaccination $35

Here is a little info on their eligibility requirements as of September, 2011:

If you or someone you know receives one or more of the following types of assistance, you may be eligible for the Spay in the City program.

  • Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Major VA Disability
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • HUD Section 8 Housing
  • CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program)
  • Social Security Disability (SSD)
  • Free Lunch Program (Public Schools)
  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) – Formerly AFDC
  • Low income  <$30,000 yearly

Memphis & Shelby County Humane Society

The Humane Society also has spay and neuter services available. The most current information may be viewed at https://secure.lunaweb.net/humane_society/services.html. Here’s a quick overview as of September 2011:

Our spay/neuter program is open to low income pet owners for a cost of $50. All pets must be current on vaccines and proof of such should be taken to the vet on the day of the appointment. To participate in our program, visit our offices at 935 Farm Road, Tuesday – Saturday from 10am – 6pm, closed on Mondays. You can choose from a list of participating vets and we will set up your appointment:
